AI-generated content

Some questions and some Part 2 marking feedback are generated or assisted by artificial intelligence (AI).

AI-generated content is clearly labelled as "AI-generated" until it has been reviewed by a clinical microbiologist. Once reviewed, the label may be removed — but review does not guarantee correctness, and all content, reviewed or not, may contain inaccuracies, omissions, or become outdated over time.

Always use your own judgement and consult authoritative clinical and educational sources where appropriate. Agar should be used only as an exam-preparation resource and never as a source of clinical guidance.

No patient-identifiable information

Do not upload or enter any information relating to an identifiable patient, anywhere on this site — including in Part 2 answers, question-flag reports, or any other free-text field.

This includes names, initials, dates of birth, addresses, NHS or hospital numbers, photographs, scans, screenshots, or any combination of details that could identify an individual.

If you want to discuss a real case, do so through your usual clinical governance channels, not on Agar.

How your data is used

Anonymous or aggregated information about how you use Agar may be used for education research and/or to help improve the platform. These are two separate, optional consents — you decide independently whether to opt in to either, and you can change your mind at any time from account settings. Declining both has no effect on your ability to use Agar. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.

Agar is an independent educational platform and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of the Royal College of Pathologists.
